 Mark Southwick set up Sparks Cleaning Services in Bristol 2014. Here’s his story... 

After almost ten years working as a chef in commercial kitchens, progressing from grill chef and second chef to become a head chef, Mark realised he preferred cleaning kitchens to working in them. 
It was time for a change. At the age of 25 he took a bold step into the cleaning industry. 
Having gained professional expertise and an excellent eye for detail as a chef, Mark knew he needed to start with the basics in this new sector. 
“In the early days I started with small cleaning jobs for agencies before winning a contract to clean five-star serviced apartments. For four years I ran day-to-day cleaning services for different types of apartments, including housekeeping.” 
The next step was to gain experience in a bigger commercial cleaning service. 
“I wanted to gain more experience in the cleaning industry, so I went to work for a large commercial cleaning franchise. I started as area supervisor and over the next three years moved on to became an area manager." 
“I learned a lot while I was managing a large team of cleaners providing services from routine office cleans to end-of-tenancy and one-off deep cleaning for letting agencies. Our clients included holiday parks, doctors’ and dentists’ surgeries, and commercial sites." 
“With added skills and experience of a large-scale cleaning operation I decided it was time to set up a new cleaning business myself. My priority for Sparks Cleaning Services is to deliver exceptional standards in every aspect of cleaning. 
“Our work covers rented properties and offices to commercial premises and property developments. We are proud of the reputation we have built for quality and reliability over the last five years.”
